“The Menopause Coat” Cocoon Coat with Removable Faux Fur Collar

One of the best things about weaving is it’s ability to use up small bits of yarn that otherwise might not have a use…this lovely piece came about from such an endeavor! I wanted something quick, so I used a bunch of different thick multi-strand yarns. Since I wanted blocks of color, I did split weaves here and there. The splits added little vents all over the coat, so the perfect name for it came to be “The Menopause Coat”. The cocoon style is timeless and loose-fitting. The removable faux-fur collar is a warm addition that adds just the right amount of glamour for this piece. About a size 12, the gnerous sizing fits a wide range of body types. Yarns are a combination of synthetics and wool, with a bit of sparkle sprinkled throughout the fabric. Closes with a leather loop and oversized shell button.
