Weaving IS Fashion! Our Fashion Gallery...
From the very first moment I ever threw a shuttle, I knew I wanted to make gorgeous clothing out of these one-of-a-kind fabrics! Handwoven fashion is our passion, and my pieces reflect our desire to create beautiful couture-quality clothing using fabrics that you won't find anywhere else on the planet. These lovely clothing pieces have a spirit and soul...it is said that handwoven fabric "breathes" with its own life, and surrounds the wearer with pure joy! Many of my pieces are inspired by my weaving hero Virginia West, who showed weavers how to use simple shapes from the loom, turning them into gorgeous, fluid pieces that flatter the body. Available for sale here, as well as in our show booth, we hope you enjoy our gallery of fashion, and the stories behind each piece!
"Corail de la Mer" Fringed Top & Shorts
In the dead of winter, we all yearn for the warm days ahead. I started this weave in the duldrum days of March 2025, and I wasn't sure what it was going to be, although I did have initial thoughts of a shorts set. And it turned out that this was exactly what this weave wanted to become! I turned everything on the bias and left the asymmetric fringed front edge (how could I ever chop that off?!) The set is about a size 12, with bias flexibility in the fabric to accommodate a small range of sizes. Fabic is a delicious mix of linen, cotton, silk, rayon, and bamboo. "Blue Breeze" Linen Dress
What feels better than linen on a hot summer's day? "Blue Breeze" came about when I wanted to create a bias dress, and one of my books gave me the idea for the pleated sections to accent the diagonal seams. Woven from various linens, silks, cottons, and a touch of rayon, the colors and textures meld into a fabulous dance of color and texture. You'll find tiny sequins woven in, adding a very subtle sparkle that you'll love. About a size 12-14, the dress is roomy and comfy, and the bias cut adds even more ease. Enjoy "plaid" in quite a different way with this lovely jumper-dress, turned on-point, and draped around the body. It's a piece you'll love wearing when the heat goes up! Click here to purchase.
"The Menopause Coat"
One of the best things about weaving is it's ability to use up small bits of yarn that otherwise might not have a use...this lovely piece came about from such an endeavor! I wanted something quick, so I used a bunch of different thick multi-strand yarns. Since I wanted blocks of color, I did split weaves here and there. The splits added little vents all over the coat, so the perfect name for it came to be "The Menopause Coat". The cocoon style is timeless and loose-fitting. The removable faux-fur collar is a warm addition that adds just the right amount of glamour for this piece. About a size 12, the gnerous sizing fits a wide range of body types. Yarns are a combination of synthetics and wool, with a bit of sparkle sprinkled throughout the fabric. Closes with a leather loop and oversized shell button. (not shown in some photos above) Such a fun weave, and one SURE to get you compliments everytime you wear it! To purchase, click here!
"October Bouquet" Wrap Coat
When we first started carrying "LanaSilk", our exquisite sport-weight Polwarth/Tussah Silk yarn, I couldn't wait to create something just to showcase it! I had fun throwing in other yarns, some sparkle, and lots of shapes woven into the cloth. Based on our "Goddess Vest" design, I added long sleeves and a full-round fringed edge for a wonderful front drape, or tuck it up around the neck for extra warmth, and to show off a pretty brooch! This jacket is about a size 12/14, with lots of roominess to fit a wide range of sizes. Click here to purchase!
"Olive/Khaki" Bias Two-Pice Top & Skirt
So...here's the deal with this one. Basically, this dress came about due to a yarn-ordering blunder I made. (YES, there ARE mistakes in yarn ordering!) For some reason, I thought this yarn was a natural color. So of course, ordered 15 POUNDS of it, thinking I'd be dyeing it into all sorts of wonderful-ness. When I got it, well, it was this strange olivey-brown color, and I had to berate myself for the mistake. Since I had SO MUCH of this stuff, I decided the first thing I should do is a BIG WARP with it...ha! I had been eyeing Virginia West's gorgeous bias designs for so long, and thought it was time to jump right in. Make something beautiful, while at the same time, attempting to use up my erroneous yarn-buy!
Turns out, this little dress was a delight! The yarn was exquisite, the bias was drapey and gorgeous, and the minute this little dress went on a body, it became a curvaceous, bias masterpiece, flattering curves in all the right places!
Long story short, this little two-piece became our biggest show-stopper garment EVER! I could have sold it at least ten times, even though it was only a size 4! So, out of calamity came something wonderful. This piece is sold, yes...but of course, I still have pounds and pounds of this yarn, and I will be making another for the booth. I will also be taking made-to-orders for this dress too, in this exact size. If you are able wait about four weeks for me to weave & sew, click here to order!
"A Sweater, Woven #1" Bias Sweater Pullover
This sweater came about because I was determined to show that a sweater could be woven, and not just knitted or crocheted. I wanted to give beginning weavers something to think about, beyond scarves and table runners. This lovely piece is made from a gorgeous wool boucle hand-dyed yarn, with a soft, solid wool collar and accent. It's dolman sleeve fits loosely with comfort, and the overall size is about a 12/14. The bias bottom edge sits perfectly at the waist, without raising when the arms are raised. It's been very popular in our booth, and customers love to try it on! Click here to purchase.
"A Sweater, Woven #2" Bias Sweater Pullover
The second in my woven sweater collection! I wanted to make one of these beautiful pullovers in a slightly larger size, and this one is about a 14/16. Made from a deliciously soft Italian wool and a lovely wool boucle, I added in subtle sparkle in the body, and again used the soft black wool for the collar and stripe accent. Inspired by Virginia West, this design is turned on the bias, causing the fabric to lay in a flattering way on the body, and sitting perfectly at the waist with a slight drape, depending on your torso height. A dolman sleeve is suprememly comfortable, and allows for many sizes and body shapes to wear this sweater. Click here to Order!
"Cityscape in Blue" Pullover Top
A skyline, tilted on the bias! This gorgeous pullover was a delight to weave, mixing about 12 different Italian wool and silk yarns. Using the clasped weft technique, I created overlapping rectangle shapes in all different shades of blue. I sewed the panels into a square shape, than turned it on-point to create a bias shape that drapes beautifully on the body. The fringed collar frames the face, and the colors simply pop! About a size 12/14 with a comfy dolman sleeve, this top will fit a wide range of sizes. This is a made-to-order garment, so please allow about 4-6 weeks for me to create this for you! It will not be identical to this photo, but a one-of-a-kind item in all the same yarns. It's worth the wait...click here to order!
